Responsibilities

Wellstar Medical Group is seeking a BE/BC fellowship trained Trauma, Critical Care Surgeon to join Wellstar Surgical Specialists of Atlanta at Atlanta Medical Center. Wellstar AMC is a 460-bed, level 1 trauma center in downtown Atlanta with 4000 trauma activations last year. This is a busy, well-established, collegial physician group with 6 trauma surgeons who are the primary faculty for a strong community surgery residency program, and 3 APPs. The practice provides trauma, emergency general surgery, and critical care, with an opportunity to grow an elective general surgery practice. The successful candidate will participate in the care of our trauma and critical care patients, call schedule, back up call schedule, education of our residents and medical students, and support of the trauma program. Research is strongly encouraged. Leadership opportunities within the group may be available depending on experience.

Qualifications

Candidates must be Board Certified (or Board Eligible) in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery and Surgical Critical Care with plans to recertify when necessary. Completion of an accredited Fellowship in Trauma Surgery and Surgical Critical Care preferred.
